Editorial and quality policy
Amsterdam On The Go is a practical city utility. Our editorial goal is to make public location and event data easier to use without pretending that an automated map is more current or authoritative than the real world.
What we publish
We publish practical guidance about using the map, category-specific explanations, current free public events and moderated community information. We do not publish filler articles simply to target search keywords. A page should either help someone use the service, explain a category, document our methodology or provide a useful current event overview.
How imported data is treated
Imported records are raw material, not editorial content by themselves. We organise them into practical layers, validate coordinates where possible, remove expired event records and add clear limitations where access, opening hours or safety can change. Multi-location events are kept off the map when one reliable point cannot be established.
Corrections and updates
Public-space data becomes outdated. We welcome corrections at daanjaeger@hotmail.com. Community submissions are moderated before publication and may be rejected when they are promotional, misleading, duplicated or unsafe.
Automation
Some data imports, page generation and expiry checks are automated. Automation is used to keep structured information current; it is not used as a reason to publish pages with no useful purpose. Editorial guidance and site changes are reviewed before release.
Advertising independence
Advertising does not determine which map locations or events are included. Paid promotion must not be disguised as a community location, review or event.
