Planning a dog walk in Amsterdam with off-leash and practical layers
The Dog off-leash layer is a discovery tool for areas mapped as dog parks or places where dogs may be allowed off leash. It is not a replacement for the current municipal dog map or signs in the park.
Start with the off-leash layer
Zoom to the neighbourhood or park you want to visit and look at the available dog-related points. Do not assume that every green area is off-leash just because it is a park.
Then add practical stops
For a longer walk, Drinking water can be useful for you, while Public toilets can help plan a route for the human end of the leash. Other layers are optional and should only be added when they help.
Rules can be more detailed than map data
Permissions can change by season, zone or local management. Always follow signs on location. For the municipal overview, use Amsterdam's official dog map linked from our dog guide and About page.
Respect shared space
An off-leash permission is not permission to ignore other park users, wildlife or local restrictions. Keep your dog under control and use the map as a planning aid rather than a legal authority.
