A free day outdoors in Amsterdam using practical map layers
Amsterdam On The Go does not try to build a generic “top 10” itinerary. Instead, the map can help you assemble a day around what is actually available near the part of the city you choose.
Begin with current free events
Our event list only labels an imported event as free when the source explicitly identifies it as free. That is deliberately stricter than assuming that a missing ticket price means zero cost. Check the official event link before travelling because programmes and times can change.
Add practical layers around the event
Once you know where you are going, add Drinking water and Public toilets around that area. If the event is in or near a park, Sports facilities, Dog off-leash or Swimming spots may also be relevant depending on your plans.
Keep temporary and permanent information separate
A toilet or sports court is a persistent location; an event can disappear tomorrow. That is why the website treats them differently. Expired events are removed from the current event snapshot instead of being allowed to build up as stale pins.
Check local conditions
Outdoor plans depend on weather, water quality, park rules and maintenance. The map helps with discovery, but it is not a substitute for current official warnings or signs at the location.
