CURRENT & UPCOMING PUBLIC EVENTS IN AMSTERDAM

About Amsterdam On The Go

Amsterdam On The Go is a practical city map for things you may need while you are already out: drinking water, ATMs, toilets, bike pumps, AEDs, book exchanges, swimming spots, late-night shops, public events, sports facilities and dog off-leash areas. Public map locations are mainly sourced from OpenStreetMap and community suggestions are reviewed before publication.

๐Ÿ• Dog off-leash areas

The dog layer uses OpenStreetMap features marked as a dog park or as allowing dogs off-leash. Local rules can be more detailed or seasonal, so always follow signs on location. For the municipal overview, use the official Amsterdam dog map.

Privacy & advertising

Location access is optional and is used only when you ask the map to locate you. Place and review submissions use Supabase authentication. Event, place and review submissions require Google sign-in and are moderated before publication. Your Google account email is used for authentication, security and moderation-related account communication, not promotional email unless you separately opt in. This site uses Google AdSense; Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to the consent choices presented to visitors where legally required. Community rules

No spam, advertising disguised as a location or event, fake places, harassment, illegal content, misleading links or inappropriate media. New community entries and events are held for review. Automated and abusive submission patterns may be rate-limited or blocked.

Why this map is different from a generic directory

Amsterdam On The Go is designed around practical questions that happen while you are already moving through the city: where can I refill water, find a toilet, get cash, pump a bicycle tyre, exercise outside, walk a dog off leash or see something free nearby? The map keeps those needs in separate layers so you can combine only the information that matters to your current trip.

Permanent places and temporary events are treated differently

A drinking-water point or sports court can remain useful for years, while an event may matter for only a few hours. Permanent locations are organised as map layers. Events keep start and end times, disappear from the current view after they finish, and only receive a marker when there is one reliable venue.

Imported data is not presented as perfect

Open map and public datasets are useful, but they can lag behind changes in the street. Opening hours, access, maintenance and local rules can change. The site therefore explains the limitations of each category and encourages visitors to follow current signs and official guidance where safety or access matters.

Community contributions are moderated

Useful community data should not become free advertising or a spam channel. Submissions require authentication, are reviewed before publication and can be rejected when they are promotional, duplicated, misleading or unsafe.

Built for mobile use first

The map starts with a small set of essential layers and lets you add more only when needed. Filters, events, the map and nearby results can be collapsed so a phone screen stays usable instead of becoming a wall of controls and markers.
